Fashionable Growth For Fashion Photographers
A focus on fashion photography has turned a vibrant professional photography business into a market leader in less than five years.
From humble beginnings in a converted chicken shed Prodoto has seen huge growth and is now one of the country’s largest fashion photography studios.
As specialists in both still life and model fashion shoots, 70 per cent of the images created by Prodoto Photographic Studios are for the rag trade.
As the business prepares to celebrate its fifth birthday its founder William Lack says: “Having a great team of advertising photographers, commercial photographers and food photographers has meant that what was a pipe dream of working with top clients such as Marks & Spencer, Amazon, Timberland and Toyota has become a reality.”
50.000 images a year for worldwide clients
In the early days Will, a professional photographer, worked on his own in cramped conditions. Since then Prodoto has grown 40 per cent year on year and has moved into a large premises with 12,000 sq ft of studio space. Will now employs 24 staff and enjoys the camaraderie.
From its photography studio in the quaint town of Hebden Bridge, between Leeds and Manchester, 50,000 images a year are styled and shot for clients across the world.
The fashion photography team pride themselves on their wide range of styling options. Garments can be shot on mannequins, hangers or styled flat, with added focus on brand identity such as logos or labels. For an extra twist the pictures can be animated to produce virtual product tours.
Alternatively some clients chose to use models to show off their latest collections transforming the studios into fashion catwalks.
As well as advertising shoots this dynamic company’s portfolio also includes a broad range of product and food photography creating packshots and lifestyle images ideal for websites, brochures and advertising material.
Founded by commercial photographer
Will’s passion for quality photography is fundamental to the business. He was first given a camera as a young boy and fondly remembers setting up still life scenes at home to photograph. It led to a Media Studies degree at Manchester University and then work as a freelance press photographer.
After years on the road capturing news events Will decided he wanted to use his professional photography and lighting skills to create high-end studio images.
He says: “I wanted to enjoy going to work. I love the vibe and the drama of it all. I started Prodoto because I wanted to build a business my children would be proud of.”
Efficient, hassle free and high quality service
The staff at Prodoto Photographic Studios have both the technical ability and the studio space to tackle a wide range of photographic projects. They can construct large room sets, take delivery of bulk orders and work on several shoots a day.
From booking into the studio to the finishing touches Prodoto aims to give its clients a service that is efficient, hassle free and high quality.
